Notes
Julia became pregnant with her first child before she was married. She said she had a "shotgun wedding." She was then sent to live with her Uncle Malcolm Castellaw in Peoria, IL. From this point forward, Julia referred to herself as the "black sheep" of the family and did her best to live up to that reputation.
In the 50s/60s, she lived in Tennessee for short periods of time. In the early 70s, she moved back to Tennessee for about two years, and then on to Dallas, Texas, where she lived until her death in 1992.
Julia stated often that she had been married five times. It's possible she was including an annulled marriage in this total.
Julia changed her last name back to Straight after her divorce from Mike Wilson. Julia often said that Wayne Straight was the love of her life.
One or more documents had Julia's birth year as '1930'. This is not correct. Her birth year was 1929. Also, the month of birth is wrong on her death certificate.
Julia mentioned the boy given up for adoption many times. Unfortunately, this was while her children were young. Memories are vague about the details she shared. This is what I remember: David is the name I think of when remembering her talk about him. Danny Silverstein is the name I think of when remembering her talk about the father.
She said the family of the father forced her to adopt the boy out. She didn't have the money to fight it. I don't know if he was adopted by them.
