Notes
John Hussey is listed with Ida and step-son Early O Griffith in the 1900 census. She has one child with one living. In the 1910 census, John is listed with Ida M and step-son ? O Griffith. By this time, Ida has had three children, with one living. John is not with them in the 1920 Escambia County census, but Escambia County is listed as his place of death in the transcription from 'Alabama Deaths, 1908-1974'. Ida is living alone, one household away from her son, Earl, and his in-laws. Her status is married. There are no Hussey children listed.
Some members of the Hussey family pronounce the name as Hersey. It appears this is the way John and Ida pronounced it. Her last name is spelled Hearsey in the 1920 census.
After John's death:
There is a marriage record (transcription) for an Ida May Hussey and a Chesley T Carter in 1927, a year after John's death. In the 1930 Bratts, Florida census (transcription), Ida M Carter can be found with a Chester Carter and Earlie O Griffeth and family.
